Do they have them with flat ends not the half moon if so I think I may have to try some

Re: Now why didn't I think of this?
It would be a bit heavy on the wrong end of the arrow (says it weighs 100 grains without the fletch).
To offset the weight at the rear you'd have to add somewhere close to that same weight at the point, so you'd be adding 200 (+/-) grains total to your arrows to be close to the same balance point (FOC).

How much weight does the Standard NuFletch Spectrum add to my arrow?wabi wrote:It would be a bit heavy on the wrong end of the arrow (says it weighs 100 grains without the fletch).

Example of total weight with the NuFletch Spectrum Standard on an arrow weighing 9.9 grains per inch:
Spectrum Standard = 65.5 Grains
*Don’t forget you remove 3.5″ of shaft weight to achieve proper arrow length*
3.5″ @ 9.9 grains / inch = (-) 35 grains removed from shaft
Add Back (+14.2 grains) for the insert (Standard Arrow Insert For Your Shaft)
Spectrum Standard – 3.5″ (shaft weight) + insert = Added Weight
In this example: 65.5 – 35 (removed shaft length weight) = 30.5 + 14.2 (added insert) = 44.7 grains added.
Here is the weight stats from Nufletch site.

Re: Now why didn't I think of this?
These are the vains that can be used and crossbows compatable versions are offered.
What vanes can we use with the Nufletch arrows?
The NuFletch System was designed around the Blazer vanes. 2″ Blazer vanes are available at most archery stores and here on line. The NuFletch System is packaged with the Blazer product and are recommended because the grooves in fletch holder were created specifically for the tight tolerances offered by the Blazer Vanes. (Cross Bolts offered with 2.125″ Fusion Vanes can house other vanes such as AAE and VMax)

I was thinking of weight in comparison to the Bohning Blazers I use - 3x6grains = 18grains.theoldarcher wrote:How much weight does the Standard NuFletch Spectrum add to my arrow?wabi wrote:It would be a bit heavy on the wrong end of the arrow (says it weighs 100 grains without the fletch).

Compared to the method of using a fletching jig and gluing on vanes or feathers any of the other methods are going to add extra weight. I believe I read the heat-shrink fletching adds an additional 10-15 grains over conventional fletching with similar sized vanes.
Just saying any weight added to the nock end has a potential for upsetting arrow flight. They may work fine.
If you do try them I'd sure be interested in hearing the results.

Re: Now why didn't I think of this?
my thought is its a good concept that needs some tweaking..
the weight is a issue but is overcomable..
cost is up there ..and sure wouldnt want to hit one with another arrow,,..also it adds more opertunity for missalinement..
most of us ..me included..yearn for a better and faster way to reflech,,but so far the KISS aproach is as always the best,,
I tried some FOBs with my compound..for this reason..simple and took only a couple secs to replace,,
shoot great but i found that after a while they started coming off in flight and just didnt work for hunting..
I like em just fine for targets but in the woods they are just more to go wrong.. as with everything ..you just have to give new stuff a try and see if you like it ,,we all know there is a trade off for every thing ..i guess if money wasnt a the issue i would try every new thing under the sun,,

I can see this becoming a popular product.

I'm not so sure about that. It will increase the cost per arrow quite a bit. I don't think your average shooter will buy another $10 plus component to stick on an arrow that they may lose or ruin.groundpounder wrote:Very interestingI can see this becoming a popular product.
With a $10 broadhead (average cost), $7 arrow (including inserts) and somewhere around $2 to $3 for fletching (Quikfletch), I just don't see a lot of people other than us tweak junkies jumping on this. I think most hunters will balk at sending a 30 dollar bill downrange!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

X2, cost as per link: 3 pack retails for US$ 42.99 As said more or less by Wabi, looks like a problem looking for a place to happen.OkXbowHunter wrote:I'm not so sure about that. For that price one can buy half a dozen arrows and have money left over to buy vanes to refletch them twice over.
Even so, to quote P.T. Barnum, "A sucker is born every minute." As such, I suppose there'll be several fools willing to part with their money.

any alum insert/nock i have weighed 25gr, where they get 14.5
....i was thinking of going to a lighted nock but i would need weight added to the front of my arrows to stay over 21% FOC....right now i only have 25grs on the rear of my arrows with both the nock and vanes.........bob

Re: Now why didn't I think of this?
Way too expensive for the avid shooter / hunter in my opinion, and it takes the fun out of it too! I mean, who doesn't like bitc7ing all the way home about wrecking all their arrows?
