Spitfire Edge broadheads

Post by arnettjd10 »

Has anyone tried these? It sounds like a great idea but i would like to hear some reviews on it. If you think about it the serrated blades should cut through bone better than the regular blades.

Not positive they are legal in all states. Some places require so much blade has to be straight edge . . .or all straight.

I like the looks . . .don't know anyone that has used them.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

I have used the Spitfire Maxx great head. I read a report a few years ago on serrated blades. Don't remember where. Anyway they calmed the serrated blades would catch hair and fibers. And more or less gum up the blades reducing there ability to slice.

Hey rt2bowhunter when you shot the spit fire max did you have to use a rubber band on the blades to hold them in place ? i am shooting the Equniox with a firebolt and blazer vanes,, right around 350 fps. :?:
And i have read the same thing about the serated edge doing exactly what you said.. it takes the hair into the wound channel by folding it in half instead of cutting it.

I have shot the maxx out of several bows. A Ibex,Relayer Y25, Strykeforce and 125 scorpyd 125.
Never had a problem and no rubber bands. Matter of fact one year i took 3 deer with the same head. I took the head apart and cleaned and sharpened the blades between shots.
This year i took a wild boar with the Maxx. It did a great job. I will clean and sharpen and reuse.
