Burn Smell

Post by Phillyarcher »

When shooting bolt Its smells like something is burning. There is a slight build up of wax on top of rail.Should I remove the wax on the rail? I still harvested all the deer I shot.

It's normal, string rubbing on rail. Love the smell.

The wax on the rail will come off with a little silicone spray, or the edge of a credit card. I prefer to remove the build-up because grit sticks to it over time.

It was posted somewhere before that the burn smell is the aluminum nock rubbing on thr rail when the bow is fired. Nothing to be concerned about. Fire away. :)
