Boo string?

Post by Jumper »

Might be a silly question but I am new to crossbows, but can a Boo string from a Phoenix be used on a Vortex?

A bit of info on his strings. Last I knew, he wanted to know your bheight prior to building one. It's easier to twist a lower height one up than wait for a higher height to creep down, as they don't much, imho.

It makes a difference if you have a straight riser verses a limb forward riser...thats why he ask for the info he ask for when you order your string.

What is the difference? I thought all the excals had basically the same risers on them. I shoot a new Vortex, which is it?

You have a forward riser. If you look down on the riser/limbs, you can see they are angled forward a few degrees. The straight riser limbs attatch square to the rail.

Both style risers take same strings. There's several choices on any mag tip limbed bow, but only dacron on carved tip older models. All limbs are the same, not counting camo colors and patterns.

It's all good. Think Pyp has pics of the two diff limb tips and someone will no doubt post a pic of the two styles of risers.

I got curious and read a few old posts. From what I read you can actually gain or lose speed depending on which riser you use. Straight riser on my vortex would slow it down. Is that correct?

The forward riser gains you 25 lbs.
