A question I have is where I live in Nova Scotia, what preparation would I need to go through to be able to hunt turkeys in Ontario?

For out of towners, or people that can't make the seminars you can order the dvd, they mail it to you with a student ID #, you can then take the test online or with most OFAH examiners.

Here is the link http://www.ofah-cps.com/turkey/DVD.cfm

Hope this helps.

Cost is $35, just got one for my son, he is now 12 and will hunt this year. If we are lucky, he will fill both my tags :D \

Thanks for the info. I have taken and passed all the courses that I require for hunting in Nova Scotia. Is that the only course that I would need to take and pass to be able to hunt turkey with a friend in Ontario?
Thanks,
Raymond

So the regulations for non-resident would have changed from 2011 then correct?

Ontario’s wild turkey season is open to non-residents
of Ontario who have:
• A valid hunting version Outdoors Card;
• Taken the Ontario Wild Turkey Hunter Education
Course and passed the written exam
;
• Purchased a non-resident’s small game licence tag and
a wild turkey licence and game seal.
(still trying to come up with something witty and interesting to add)

In addition:

http://www.ofah-cps.com/turkey/DVD.cfm

"It is mandatory for anyone wishing to hunt wild turkeys in Ontario to take this course."

My interpretation of "anyone" would be resident and non-resident, notwithstanding the fact that you may have your own provincial WT Card.

no ben, same as last year, Raymond had asked that after he took the course if he was good to hunt, I just added that he would have to purchase 3 things before hunting....

Ah see the way I read it was that Raymond was referring to the NS courses he took, and not that Ontario one that you had linked above. :D
