All those glorious pictures!!!! You and the deer!!!! You and the family and the deer!!! You smiling and the deer!!!! Ben pointing to the steak he wants!!! The happy-help draggin' the deer!!!! Made my day. Way to go Monica.

Congratulations girl...... You rock.

Congrats on your deer.

And to think ........ after all the time you put into the woods ..... all the time you spent preparing ...... all the razzing you have taken .........

All it took for you to get your first deer with the bow was to have your husband run over your bow with the van ...... .... not just run over it .... but stop the wheel right on top of it ......

I can just see now that there will be a rise in the number of people that have their bows run over. BTW I love the pic, especially your sun shooting the deer with his finger gun :D

Again ....... Congrats I knew you could and would do it.

Congratulations that's a nice buck.
I've never been one to mince words or be politically correct but that is a marginal angle at best.
Obviously the result was a dead deer but more often than not that's a wounded deer.
I see this quartering two all the time on wild tv and can't believe they air those shots as it's not a shot I'd ever take.

Keep trying Tara! This was the first deer I'd seen on that property in at least 3 years. Go get 'em!

I agree with you. Honestly, I do. You are absolutely correct. I wouldn't encourage that shot angle. It's an difficult shot to get right.

I can't totally explain it, but I was confident of a kill with that shot or I absolutely would not have pulled the trigger.

The blades put a crease in the heart and sliced the main arteries right off at the heart - both lungs were gone. He was dead before he hit the ground.

When I first walked up on the deer and saw the entrance wound I thought: "WHAT?!?!?" Then I stood back and pictured the deer standing up with legs supporting it and the shoulder engaged I could see it hit right where I aimed. It really looked different with the deer prone, shoulder relaxed, leg bent - it looks "worse".

It's definitely not a shot angle I'd encourage for archery. I hope no one here uses this instance as an excuse to take that shot.
