ot somebody got some splainin to do

Post by munch »

well i heard a story tonight that will take some real back peddling to get out of .
i know a guy who had a gun stolen and used in a robbery in 2002 it was evidence in a court case and he was told by the police that it would be destroyed after the case. so he was every surprised yesterday when he got a call from another police department to let him know they had found his gun in another investigation you know the one the police. The fellows that protect us destroyed 11 years ago.not sure but that may fall under unsafe storage of a firearm. sure will be interesting to see where this goes .got a feeling we will hear much more on this story

The cops who were supposed to destroy the gun obviously didn't. Someone took it home and probably sold it.

I'm sure theres a logical reason for how this could have happened.....and if there isn't I'm sure they'll come up with one. Curious to see how this plays out.

This will be interesting, I would think its the original owners fault, NOT!!

It's almost as bad as hearing they want to reinstate the registry! :x

just funny too me i went to the same police station in the past about my F.A.C renewal and was treated as if i was doing something wrong the guy behind the counter told me if he had his way he would get rid of all guns. i know there are a lot of hard working guys that lay it on the line for us every day but i think some where theres a bad apple, or was at that station .

handguns have been under a registration program for as long as i can remember .he told me he gave a officer the original paper work for the gun in 2002.i know there where a lot of older people that have given up hunting or had guns passed down to them ,they did not know what to do with them so turned them in to be destroyed when the long gun registry was created .just wonder how many of these where not destroyed if its that easy to do with a handgun someone may have had quite a side business going on to subsidize there poor wages lol

It could have been a type o on reporting the serial numbers. Years ago we received a call about one of our guns being used and recovered in a crime. We checked our safe and we still had our gun. Later found out they had a type o in their report.
