I'll probably get sued by Excal for letting the cat out of the bag, but I heard its going to be a fully automatic crossbow, an idea they stole from the Van Helsing movie

From another forum and not my posting!

Excalibur will introduce three new models in 2013.

The one that has me excited the most is a new 400fps model recurve! Yes RECURVE! The new model will also sport some shorter limbs. I'm also hearing the crossbow will be 30" wide. It is called the Matrix (in keeping with Excal's theme of an X somewhere in the name).

All three models will be co-introduced at the same time, very possibly before the end of January.

Obviously, being a recurve guy, I'm very anxious to get my hands on one, especially with the disbanding of the Bohning/Middleton venture.

I'm also very curious to see how this powerhouse will be to cock, what with the short limbs and what must be a very high draw weight.

One thing for sure there appears to be a much bigger section below the stock to keep your hands away from the string.
Another thing is the scope is different
Lighter Weight
( Shorter ) maybe a built in range finder for automatic adjustments making the centre cross hair always on target no matter what the distance.(Programable)

(the movie Matrix is about smart technology so in this day and age it would not hard to incorporate some into a crossbow)

Longer Arrow Hold Down Spring

On a lighter side Maybe

Recurve / Compound Combination

One limb is a short recurve limb. with other limb having a cam .

Perhaps...I would have liked to see a new product introduction campaign to align with Christmas and product release to take advantage of the Christmas shopping period...However that's me. You also need to have the product ready for that time.

I don't know that we are the target market for Excaibur's marketing anyway...we will buy whatever they sell...because with are advocates for the product...its everyone else that might not know about the quality, reliability, etc...

I think Excaliburs Marketing Guy(s) knows what they are doing. How much teasing do you need  I would think its all been planned out and on a time frame for them that suits everyones needs.[/quote]

Got a lot of folks talking and wondering. Just saw a guy from Ga. over on the AT site stating that it has 380 lb limbs with a short cocking stroke but will be easy to cock.

Lots and lots of rumors going around. We will all know soon. :D
