broadhead beveled washer ???????
Just got some Montec CS 100 grain today and when I put them on I noticed quite a bit of flat edge showing around the edge of the insert because the base of the Montec is considerably smaller than the insert. I know that in years past I had some beveled washer of some kind that smoothed this transition but Ive searched and cant seem to find anything on the internet.
Can someone please tell me if they still make them or what they are called ?

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
What arrows are you shooting?
I just grabbed a GT II and screwed in a Montec and saw no problem at all. The base of my Montec is beveled and is almost the same OD as the arrow. If it was larger than the arrow it might catch when pulling out of a target but being slightly smaller it will slide right out. As far as penetration the broadhead is making a much larger cut than the arrow shaft that follows.

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
Thanks robertyb but my problem is that the base of my broadhead is much smaller than the insert on my Laser II's. My broadhead is Montec CS 100 grain. The picture I have attached is not real good but you can see a pretty large amount of the brass insert and I really believe I want to try these Montecs.

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
Could shoot a 1/2" diameter arrow with those heads. So long as the hole you're cutting is bigger than the shaft. A little bit of brass showing wont effect anything.

Looks just like mine. You are good to go. Try shooting it, you will like it.Lucky-Dog wrote:Thanks robertyb but my problem is that the base of my broadhead is much smaller than the insert on my Laser II's. Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
Hard to tell from the picture, but is the whole top of the inset covered? I mean, there isn't anywhere that "animal parts" can sneak in to that shaft on a pass-through is there?

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
Mine covers the top. It just has a rim showing on the insert cause of the broadhead having a smaller diameter than the insert just like the picture that Woodspike posted.

Re: broadhead beveled washer ???????
Thanks for the help. I have not had a chance to shoot these from my Phoenix yet. The flat edge showing is quite significant. My biggest concern is the flat edge of the insert hitting tissue or more importantly bone and thus slowing down the arrow and possibly not getting a complete pass through. I would think it will cause a lot of drag and resistance but just not sure. I still cant find the ferrell washers I had several years ago. I hate to get rid of these Montecs when all I need are the transition washers. I tried to take some better picture.
Again these are the Montec CS 100 grain

Thanks secret but no I didn't. I didn't know that was one of theyre options.
Anyway.....WHEEEE WOOOHOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally found the dog-gone sun-of-a-beeswaxers
Its was all a matter of searching with the correct words.

Here is an example...

Easton also makes them but I think I want the ones in the link above.
Thanks again for all help
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that if my memory serves me correctly that these adapter rings don't fit perfectly but I believe they do eliminate almost all of that exposed flat edge I was complaining about.
