A good blind that doubles as a tent?
Anyone know of a good blind that doubles well as a tent? (That fits two). Would need a footprint of at least around 72 squared. Or is this just a foolish dream? LOL

The Double Bull Matrix would probably work.

Having hunted in a couple of blinds in the rain, they are fairly dry but not exactly as dry as a good tent.I'm afraid you might be a bit" damp" if you got in a rain .jmho

Typically blinds do not have floors in them, so you may need to bring a tarp.
A good dosing of waterproof spray helps keep you dry, but it would be a tough go to stay completly dry, as mentioned.
Never did an overnighter in a blind, but it is hands down one of my favorite places to take a nap!

Yeah, that's the same info I've been getting everywhere else sadly. I have an older, smaller tent that I was hoping to replace and I wanted my own hunting blind (sick of having to drive up on the mountain to borrow my step-dad's). I went with Ameristep's Brotherhood. http://www.ameristep.com/blinds/brotherhood.html

Do a search for a camo tent. I know Eureka used to have one. You would end up with limited shooting capabilities (out the door only) but this is better option than sleeping in a blind.

Re: A good blind that doubles as a tent?
I decided just to get a new tent for camping over the summer. A camo tent as you said would have limited shooting options, plus they tend to be shiny and noisy. I'll have my new ground blind on Wednesday.

For me to use as a tent it would look more like a house than a blind . Most are only 5 foot max .
Mind you I have taken a few naps in mind .

Some type of ghille suit or "leafy wear" camo will eliminate the need for a blind altogether.

Re: A good blind that doubles as a tent?
Well there's two of us and I want to be able to sit and be comfy while I wait for a fat turkey. We're using the Ameristep brotherhood blind (we call it the sisterhood blind) and it fits us both nice. We really like it.

Sounds like one of those things like I heard an old dude say once, "If you want a muley hunt do a muley hunt, if you want an elk hunt do an elk hunt, but don't do one of them there combo hunts."

I like to be mobile and have options. Ground blinds are too limiting for me.

Well I like to read and have sex while I wait for a turkey to show up. Moving around too much gets in the way of these things.nchunterkw wrote:I like to be mobile and have options. Ground blinds are too limiting for me.
