Taking pictures to help tell your hunt story ...
I started taking pictures , many many years ago , to help tell the story of past hunts and log a photo journal to look back on when I retire ...
I've said it many times before > Man I love my climber ! .... I love the way I am able to scout and set up where I find fresh sign .... not where the deer were yesterday , but where the deer were hours before ...
Some of my favorite photo threads started back early 2000's ... I found that putting pictures together was a better way to explain the hunt .
Back in 2002 ... I was invited to hunt on a property I had never been on ... with the late Mikey V. and his friend Rick E. .... They moved to set up in their location and I scouted the property ( face into the wind ) finding a beauty funnel area between two bush lots ...
Found a great tree location that looked good for an ambush and went up in my climber ... ( an old model Warren/Sweat Blade climber )
To make a long story short ... I had a nice 10 point come by me ( see picture in heavy cover ) ..and took him in a 35 yard opening soon after this frame was taken .
Here is a picture of my gear at the base of that tree ... ( my old model Exomag and an old model blade style climber )
Walked out to recover my arrow ... ( one of many bloody arrow pictures over the years )
Followed the blood trail to the buck and took a picture with my gear packed on the climber ....
Here is a picture coming down from that tree on another hunt ... man we took a lot of whitetails from that spot !
As years went by we took many pictures to detail our hunting stories ( not all good quality pictures , as this pocket camera picture shows ) , but pictures none the less that helped accent the telling of the story ....
As the years progressed ... the equipment changed ( upgraded to a Summit Viper Climber and an Exocet 200 )
Looking forward to getting some cool pictures from the 2013 season .... Our Ontario Turkey season opens in four days ! Have fun and Good Luck to all !

Great pictures as always, Rick!
Put the decoys on the lawn to let the sun reform them, woke up to an inch of snow on them. It's going to be an interesting season!
Best of luck!

Great pictures. I have taken a lot of pictures over the years, but they are all stuff like dead deer in the back of the truck or fish on the dock. Not story telling pictures like yours.

I always enjoy your posts, Rick! It's like being right out there with you sharing in the adventure. We appreciate the time it takes for you to upload the photos - especially since you're on dial-up. It's a true labour of love!

Great stuff, I too take lots of pics and about four years ago I started keeping a hunting journal/diary which I write everything from the weather to how heavy a deer was and who shot it, which helps solve arguments our hunting group has when we start talking about past hunts. I wish I started that 20+years ago.

Good thread R.J. Lots of great accounts of hunts get posted on this board, but I always love the photo-journal style of hunting stories the best!

Nice. Thanks for taking me along again Rick.
