X act broadhead won't open!
I bought a new pack of x acts yesterday to try for the first time and I am disappointed. Shooting a Matrix 380 with a 437gr BE executioner at 30 yards into a rinehart 18-1 target. Blades did not open at any point! I then put a piece of card board in front of the target just to make sure that it wasn't because of the target being soft and it still didn't open. Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts? Reviews for this head are good, I'm shocked at the poor results.

I have been using X-Act mechanical broadheads for the last three seasons and I have not had a problem with them opening on either targets, deer, or rabbits.
I suspect that your problem is isolated and you might with communicate with the maker for an exchange.
They are good folks and would wish to know about your faulty broadhead.

I use them with my Exocet and I clearly see the open blade cuts in my Rinehart target.
As a side note, I do find the blades take a beating from that Rineheart foam.

Thought this type of broad head opened as it passed through the animal producing a large exit wound. Not sure if foam or cardboard would be a good test media. I would however expect a rage / killzone type rear deploying broadhead to fully open at the entrance point.

I agree the cardboard may give to easy for the blades to initiate opening. I had this with a different type broadhead . Try a rag taped over the front of your target.

Ya but in the Rinehart material he should clearly see the blade marks.

You guys forget just how tough a deer hide is. I think to replicate a deer hide you'll need something like 4 or 5 layers of duct tape or a raccoon.
