Rope Cocking Aid

Post by the canuck »

How durable is the rope cocker, should I have a spare just in case?

I guess it would depend on abuse/use. The one I have has some minor fraying (fuzzy sections) but it is also five years old and likely been used hundreds of times. Just like a serving I would monitor and replace when needed, I doubt they would break without giving a sign such as loose or broken fibers etc.

Lawnmower stater cord.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.

Get a couple of extras-1 with bow
-1 with vehicle
-1 at camp
-1 on your person somewhere ;when you have bow.
-1 at home
as well as any other extra things you might need.
And-----an extra stringing device with you as well.
And an extra string.

None of this stuff weighs very much and can be a hunt saver.

Parachute cord works great that is what I used on mine when I replaced the rope. Just make sure you get the real parachute cord with the 7 strands of nylon in it not the cheap stuff they call parachute cord with the white single strand center.
A gun is like a parachute: If you need one and don't have one, you won't be needing one again.

ROFL!!! That's what I do with my bows! I learned the hard way many years ago after I showed up at camp on opening day with all the gear required minus the bow      I still cringe when I think about it!
Happy Hunting!!!
