String Serving
I assume that is has been covered before, but I thought I would ask again. I talked my brother in law into trying an Excalibur Flemish Twist on his Equinox. Bought one last week, got it all stretched out with leaving cocked a couple nights and have shot it about 30 times. Somewhere between 30 and 40 shots the serving has broken and is starting to unravel. Is this typical ? His latches have been polished and he has not had any issues with the regular Excel String. Should Excalibur stand behind this or do I just get reserved? Really don't trust local archery shops.

Call Danny Miller @ 740-483-2312. He made it. I am sure he will fix it for you.

Re: String Serving
Its not usual wid the claws polished. If'en its a Factory string return it.
Re: String Serving
Check and see if it is right at the claw touch points.
I have seen before where the bow is over cocked and the back of the slot where the string goes in, and it can be sharp and cut the serving.

Re: String Serving
Rattlerun, where do you live? It may be just as easy to have a local guy serve it.
I would be happy to, if you are local.

Re: String Serving
Over cockin will certainly allow the string & servin to get cut on the sharp edge of trigger assembly. Take a round file & smooth the edges on each side
Re: String Serving
Hope they know how to serve crossbow strings. Most bow monkeys here assume it's like reserving a vert string.Big difference, crossbow strings have to served under considerably more tension to keep from separating.rattlerun wrote:Thanks for all the responses.
