A friend downloaded mapping software on my computer that I could use to copy files back and forth between the GPS and computer. I used it for work too and used it so much I wore out the little joystick. I bought two refurbished ones but they didn't last long. Upgraded to a Garmin Nuvi for the truck and don't use a handheld any more for recreational use. Oh, except for fishing!! :)
Thanks guys.. I been looking at the garmin etrex..I think that's the ticket for me. now. since im a cheapo lol ..im waiting for a good deal on ebay to pass my way.

I believe that the Legend series is now discontinued. You can wait for e-bay, but there are a few sellers that have prices that I have found were better then what ebay was selling for.

If you search around a little bit, you can buy new cheaper then used on ebay for the older units. Here are a few sites, have a look.

https://www.gps4us.com/shopdisplayprodu ... &cat=eTrex
http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-Handheld-C82.aspx
http://www.gpscity.com/handheld-gps/&p=1&b=garmin

There are other sites as well, but this is just to get you an idea of what retail prices are for older units. BTW, those were US sites and most of those stores have a Canadian site for Canadians.

Good Luck Tom
