Ibex chrono speed

Post by MC45 »

Today I shot my ibex through a chronograph. I am shooting the fire bolts with 125 grain tips. I weighed them and got 397 to 398 total weight. My 3 shots were 293,289, and 288 fps. I was very impressed as I know the 305 fps advertised speed is with a 350 grain arrow and I also thought that was with a Flemish string. Maybe I am mistaken about that. My shots were with the stock string. Do these speeds seem about right with my setup?

My Ibex chrono's 284 with the factory string and 292 with an endless loop string I made from Fast Flight with 423 gr. bolts. It blew right through a big doe with the factory string. That's all I care about.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

I am getting 310-312 fps (two different chronographs, at 4 feet) with a 405 gr. arrow, using a flemish string.
