How do you carry when hunting?

Post by one eye joe »

For those who do not like quivers on their bow, how do you carry your arrows when hunting? What make and model quiver do you recommend?

Also, how/where do you carry your cocking rope?

thanks,
Joe

I have a small hip quiver that I put on my belt almost to my back side so it is completely out of the way. And for my rope it's either in a pocket on my hip quiver or I have draped around my neck which always works unless your running.

I like a Bohning 4 arrow quiver and I purchase extra quiver brackets and mount them on most of my stands so my quiver isn't own my bow. I also use an old quikee quiver tree mounting screw that screws my Bohning brackets into the tree next to my stand. I put my cocking rope in a jacket pocket while hunting in a stand and transporting back and forth from truck to stand.

For hunting from a tree stand, I screwed an extra mounting bracket to a small block of wood with a 1-inch nylon strap underneath. I attach it around the tree at altitude. Then, when I pull my bow up, I remove the quiver from the bow and put it on the bracket.

Where do you buy just the bracket ?? I want two for tree stands but see no one selling just the bracket.

Check with Danny Miller. I'm told he has them. I already had a couple I got two years ago for another quiver. They're identical so I didn't have to buy more.

I use an older Eastmn Outfitters 4 arrow quiver. I tie it to my pack loop & put quiver hood down inside mesh pocket. I have hoist cord tied to pack loop also. I tie it off to my tree stand beside me once i haul it up.
