I was thinking about buying excalabur matrix 380 but unclear about bolts for deer hunting, I shoot carbon shafts that I make for my compound bow but I know bolts are different can I get some help on what bolts are recommended for deer hunting help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome, The Diablo 18's that come in the Matrix package are great hunting arrows.

Back Eagle is making the best shafts out there IMO.

The Diablo arrows shoot fine but their construction (lighter insert up front, aluminum knock) steers you towards heavier broadheads. Excalibur recommends 150 grain. If you go with Black Eagle Executioners, they have a heavier brass insert and a lighter plastic knock so you can go with 100 or 125 grain broadheads and still get plenty of weight forward.

welcome to the forum. I agree with the BEA executioners or Zombies. They are one tough shaft compared to the diablos. My diablos literally fell apart after less then a dozen shots into a bag target.

I have a question ,I purchased a Matrix 380 , came with the diablo bolts but I still have several carbon fire bolts .
Can I have these cut down?
And do you know if the weight would be comparable to the Diablo bolts?

Judge, you can cut those down. I don't know what your overall weight will be.

I cut mine down and added heavier brass inserts. They'll work but are slightly heavier than diablos. I still ended up buying black eagles.
