Welcome to the forum Eragon and austin13

I'm curious what you guys think about the factory trigger feel on the 405? as I understand there has been some improvements to it.

Thanks for the welcome. The factory trigger is better on the 405 then last year's 380. From what I understand Excalibur made improvements on all the matrix triggers this year. I still replace mine with a trigger tech. I love the 2.5 lb break makes it feel like shooting a rifle. Now if I never shot one with a trigger tech installed. I would of left.the factory trigger in. My guess is the factory trigger is about 3.5 to 4 lbs. It is a clean break. Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks! that answers my question quite well. Especially since you have had experience with the previous year's 380

I have never used a trigger tech trigger but I have and equinox and my 405. The 405 is much better than my equinox... It breaks clean does take a little pressure to pull it but it let's go nice I've no complaints. The bow does have slight bounce or recoil to it though so I recommend having it tight against your shoulder and the scope away from your eye a bit to be safe.

Hey bowhunter I have not shot any broad heads out of it yet just target tips so far. I have shot them at car doors 2x4 boards and targets and the power is amazing. The 405 will shoot almost completely through a solid hard 2x4 and even split the board right open.

Thats an awesome amount of power  Eragon!!! to have that at your finger tips is great :D in the event the angle is not perfect ( I do'nt wait... draw a line thru the animal and clean house), as soon as i get mine i will keep you posted on the broadhead i have splitting hairs at 50yds or better. it will definitely be at least 125 grs, and as wide as possible COC. I have 125 gr. grizztricks and magnums flying really good out of my Equinox at 50 yards without going crazy with heavy brass inserts up front. just a little extra weight attached to the insert (18gr.) and blazers on the rear. hope its that easy with the extra speed of the 405 8)

Bird here, I am new to this forum and had some questions about the new Mega 405. I ordered mine two weeks ago and it should be shipped tomorrow morning when the shop opens, can't wait. What arrow combinations are working for you ? Accuracy ? Speed ? Broadheads ? Anything you can advise me on would be greatly appreciated. With so many possibilities, and their cost, I don't want to make the same mistakes if someone else has already tried and it didn't work. I will gladly report my testing and results as soon as my new bow arrives and I can start shooting it.

The trigger in the 405 is chrome plated. Not sure if they did it in all the triggers they only advertise the 405 having this.

I think its jut the internals, sear etc. I'm not sure how the platting will hold up but the standard triggers are usually rough. I think they would be better off smoothing them up more instead of platting but time will tell. I will have mine this weekend. Everyone says the trigger is better. Its not like we are going to be shooting a 290 bow all the time anyway :) I'm getting a 330 for my every day shooter :)

I agree about the smoothing up part for sure..
Thanks.
that 330, I bet, is gonna be a real winner. don't get me wrong I love my 380 and I think the 405 is going to fly off the shelves (speed sells)
but like you say ,for an everyday shooter that 330 is going to be hard to beat
