You may strip a head or two in the process. The bolts have locktite applied from the factory. Lots of solutions if that happens to you. Keeping a small torch handy or the Boo recommended socket set approach can get you out of a bind. A quick search here will uncover the other options.

Be aware the arrow retainer moves forward with the ADF. Not a big deal and pretty self explanatory once you get the old one off.

I'm just a little tired of being the dryfire champion. Maybe if I install it, some one will claim my record in, ohhhh, say about ten years?

Hank, remove your scope. Take a magnetic allen bit and beat it in (like it owes you money) with a small gun smith hammer. Using the magnetic tip adaptor and 1/4" ratchet push down and crank out.
Anyone who has used this method will never go back. Danny Miller tells me that since he started doing it this way he hasn't had one stripped scope mount screw.

Don, recently had an ADF put on my bow, thanks Danny. Other than being spring loaded sounds like it may be lubed also? Any maintenance involve? Thanks.

All the moving parts should be lubed and wiped clean once in a blue moon. Like serving lube, the less the better.

Hank ,
When I first got my bow I didn't care for the ADF I thought it was clumsy and in the way. I thought about removing it but decided to give it a while..
now I don't even notice its there and it has become second nature to operate the thumb release when I decock. it will stay :D

Hank, don't feel bad. I've shot for years and when I came to this forum in late November I wondered how people could dry fire their crossbow???!!! Well, I've managed it 3 times since then! I still don't know how it's possible. I just need to step out of my 'zone' and pay more attention to the process. Thank goodness for the adf!!! It really saved my butt. New king?
