Wow! That's so scary. I got charged on my first hog hunt years ago. Horrible. I'm glad you're okay and praise Jesus that His hand was and is on you.

One of those times I would rather have the work of Oliver Winchester, Samuel Colt, or Mikhal Kalashnikov in my hands than the work of John, Paul or Peter.

glad your ok ,that's why I wish I could carry a pistol while bow hunting.but that's illegal here in texas.wouldnt think they would attack so easily,if u get between sow & babies or sow in heat with boar they will!i will think about you next time I smack one with the 380!i will also be more careful,have walked up on large groups several times but had my weatherby rifle and I always take 7 lucky bulletts perhaps I need more.btw are you in texas?never mind I see east texas we got alotta pigs huh.i know the population is exploding as we speak at our deer lease in thornton texas.will be back on em in October bow season.but in the mean time they havin babies like crazy!

Tammie, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can carry in Texas if you have a concealed carry permit while bowhunting. I know you can hog hunt 12 months a year with a pistol so unless its deer season there is no issue, and I think the concealed carry permit takes care of that.

It would be a good idea to check the regulations for whatever area you're hunting, just to be sure. Regs can vary within a state according to whose land your on. For instance, I can and do carry a pistol during bow season everywhere except for the National Refuge here, its a major no-no.

I didn't know i could still climb a tree that fast.

Here in Mo. Where I hunt I have personally seen 3 cougars, hundreds of hogs, a couple black bears and they just told us on news of a 80 lb grey wolf , female they got DNA back on , they say males get lots bigger I will be packing EVERYTIME I am in the woods legal or not ! Much rather pay fine than be some kind of animal sh-t
