Howdy - Newish to the Forum

Post by Wildcat »

Greetings all, I'm been monitoring the forum for a couple of months (since I found it) and thought it time to introduce myself. I'm a long time crossbow shooter/hunter from Burlington ON. I bought my first Excalibur crossbow (an Exocet 175) about 1994 if I remember correct. Still use it. Just picked up a Matrix 355 but haven't had a chance to fire it yet. Been working 7 days a week for the last month or so. I hunt locally (Flamborough mostly) for turkey and deer, and go to the occasional 3D shoot. I actually got to shoot a round of 3D a few years ago with Bill & Kath up at the Pioneer Sportsmans club when they still had the Open shoot there. Very nice folks. I also hunt/shoot with flintlock muzzloaders, traditional bows, and even occasionally with modern shotguns and rifles. Pretty much anything that'll fling a projectile. I'm a carpenter by trade, and do a fair bit of cowboy action shooting. That's me in a nutshell. Nice to meet you all.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Remember, just because I've been doing something awhile doesn't mean I'm good at it. :D I have accidentally killed a couple of blind and deaf critters through the years though. Although they might have just expired from old age just before the arrow hit them now that I think of it. Anyhow, it's nice to be amongst fellow crossbow shooters.

Nice to meet you too! I hear you one working way too much and not getting to shoot nearly enough! Tough trade off but you gotta make hay while the Sun is shining... Some day it will pay off, just keep pushing ahead! (that's what I hope anyhow...) Take er easy here and there though, Fall is just around the corner!
