Well, along with all the other stuff thats been happening lately I made time to work on the Ghille Suit I bought awhile back (my version of arts and crafts time here at the nut house I.E my house).
A member on here awhile back suggested I put some burlap one it after seeing the original "before" version" so...after roughly 50 yards of burlap and a couple cans of rattle black, brown and dark grey to blend things together a little.
Here it is: Now I just need to practice walking around and shooting in it
How heavy is it? What will it weigh when it gets wet? Will it load up with burzs and sticktights? Reason I ask,,been considering one. I sometimes wear a leafy setup when stalking. Its a great looking suit!!!

Nice, hide in plain sight! You can even use that to scare the snot out of some trick or treaters this Halloween!
Good Luck stalking them deer, it is a blast hunting that way!
It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!
It came from the swamp ! Nice work! I've kicked around the idea of a ghillie for a long time, even bought a couple pieces of nylon fishing net with intentions of making my own, it just never did happen. Nice job on yours!

Im not sure what it weighs, I will have to get on a scale without it on first and then again with it on.
As far as wet goes, not sure either, this is the first time Ive tried a Ghille let alone "modified" one. Im actually not going to use it in the rain though, I have ground blinds for that. Maybe snow I will try it but will have to see when the time comes.

That member was me . I suggested you fill in the gaps with burlap and add tie on's for natural vegetation to mimic the AO (area of operation). You've done well. Trim the bottom so you don't trip and be sure to cover your hands, you will do well. Nice job. Good luck.
Thanks Fuzzy, Im bad with names LOL.
I have camo gloves ready to go and scissors ready to trim around the feet. I will have to get some thin paracord next for the veg holders though
Heres a couple more with my E/M 355 to see how it felt holding and aiming it with the suit on. I tried cocking, loading and a couple freehand shots too and although it will take some tweaking, I think all will be good in the shooting area.
The next step will be seeing how everything goes while shooting from my seat and tripod. Still havent decided whether to use the gun wrap or not on the tripods legs to match the suit yet.
Nice work. I appreciate anyone interested in a Ghille. I'm an Army Vietnam Era Veteran and have always leaned toward the "one shot one kill" side of things. The Ghille just fits into becoming part of the terrain so I applaud your efforts. I especially think the Ghille goes with the crossbow concept as it should allow more observation before deciding on if and when a shot is to be taken. Best of luck and great hunting to you!
Looks great, been thinken on one of them now that I'm into crossbow. Just a thought but maybe along with hiding your hands you should hide the big toe.
