String twisting again
Yea I know it gets old.But you guys can be so confusing at times The strings that are not flemish I'm talking about.Like what comes on the matrix stock string. You say twist it counter clockwise.Well my JBK string you put on clock wise twist on the right side. The left side if I did that would be counter clockwise. If I turned it around it would be the same still.Unless both sides are suppose to be twisted in the same direction on both sides??If it is well mines on wrong but shoots dead nuts on!! Now I'm confused again

Re: String twisting again
Not sure what the confusion is, but I'll give answering the question a try.
It doesn't matter which side of the bow you are working from, but the twisting is in respect it the limb closest to you. If you twist the right side CCW then walk around to the left side and twist it CCW you are still twisting the string in the same direction.
It is only necessary to twist from one side! The string is still going to be twisted it's entire length.

Re: String twisting again
Well on my new string it looks like its twisted in opposite directions on both sides. So is it on wrong? It shoots ok.Its clockwise on right side of bow and counter on left.wabi wrote:Not sure what the confusion is, but I'll give answering the question a try.

Re: String twisting again
And I have not twisted the left side yet its just going the other way then the right side.
Re: String twisting again
If you adj your bheight w/ xbow on your lap, you are 'working' inside the limb tips, it's clockwise. If you adj the string from the end of the bow looking at the end of the tip, it's counter clockwise.
The string twists the same direction in each case, it's where your eye is that determines cw vs ccw.
The confusion comes from one person saying it's counter clockwise [from outside the limbs] to the next guy that says, no, it's clockwise [from inside the limb tips.]
Both are correct.

Re: String twisting again
As a guide, look at the direction of the "center serving" twist rotation, The string should be twisted up in the same direction to be tightened.

Just use a rifle.
Re: String twisting again
On a flemish you need to twist counterclockwise so the twists in the string are oriented like this:
"\\\\\\\\\\\\"
Look at how the twists are in this string, they are in the direction of "\\\\\\\\"

Re: String twisting again
Maybe this will help. If you're a geezer, get out the extra light and a magnifying glass. Guess which way you twist the string to tighten the serving? (this is for the OP).
