Micro for target shooting

Post by Steve_Guelph »

To all you micro users what are your thoughts on using it for targets? I don't want two crossbows and would like to use it for hunting and target shooting. I can shoot all day with the current bow without serving wear but would like to know how the micro would hold up. If I get a micro I will give my other excalibur away.

I'm in my mid 50's, 5'8" tall, around 200# and i can have sessions of about 60 shots with no issues, soreness, etc. It is not too hard on serving either, but I only shoot my strings, so I might not be the best gauge on that! My Matrix 355 is easier to cock, I will say that! Accuracy is top notch with the Micro.

I have only used my Micro for target shooting so far, and it fits the bill for that purpose. I do intend to hunt with mine too, but I was done for the season by the time I bought it. If we need to give our "credentials", I'm 45, 5'9" and weigh in at 190 lbs. My job requires manual labor, so I'm in pretty decent shape for someone my age and with as many miles as I have on me. I have shot pretty continuous for about two hours (not sure how many shots), but I wasn't worn out or sore afterwards.

What is your other bow? I feel my Micro is somewhere in between the Matrix 355 & 380 in terms of required cocking effort.

I am 5'8" and and in the light weight division @ 155LBS. :D

I can cock the micro for about an hour shooting session with minimal sorness. I am finding a bit of serving wear with the micro after having it for over a month now.

It is perfect for 3d because its got perfect balance from being so short.

Buy the micro and you won't need another bow.

I am going Monday to get my micro in black. They will also trade the quills for diablos if I want. What are you all using for a case?

I got the Tombstone as part of the package, and although I probably would not have bought it outright, it has proven to be a great case with quality construction. If I ran out to buy one, the Tarantula would be my first choice.
