A Fun Day of Shooting-AJR1234 is Getting Married

Post by amythntr »

....Well, my oldest son Anthony (AJR1234) is about to get married (7.4.15)...and to celebrate his pending incarceration (err wedding) a few of us including my middle guy Christopher, my brother-in-law, nephews and a friend treated him to fun day of breakfast, shooting at the range, lunch and then for the icing on the cake Anthony and I shot our Excaliburs with our freshly crafted arrows....

Here are just a few pictures of our day....

First of all here is a picture of Anthony resting comfortably in between shooting:

Here are me and the boys... don't let the GoPro picture fool you...I am really 6'5" and skinny

Image

A group shot of all of us...a motley crew we are...those are my two nephews Angelo and Daniel forming the bookends, my brother in law Angelo in the hat (remember, he is the one is the best at everything)  and our friend Justin next to Angelo...and of course we cannot forget Hunter my son CHristopher's GSH..

...the boys shooting....

Image

....Just a few of the firearms ....

Image

......and my brother in law and Daniel keeping score...it was a great competition. I was in my glory as my brother in law shot the lowest

Image

...later Anthony and myself went over to the archery range where out came....Bada Bing 8)

Image

...I wanted to try the new 15" Executioners that I put together yesterday (15" @ 9.1g/in, 80g brass insert, 39g Nu-Fletch Ignitors, 2" Blazers in "pank n white 18g, and was trying out the 100g Toxics)...Paulaboutform swears by them so I wanted to give them a try....

Image

....first shot with the practice tips proved to me that they as we say "garbage" with the tip of the practice head breaking off....

Image

....I decided to sacrifice an actual Toxic broadhead and after a couple of minor adjustments was sighted in at 20 yds....

Image

....my first shot at 40....shooting the top center target...

Image

...after a couple of minor scope adjustments I took two consecutive shots at the same target and obtained.....

Image

....needless to say I was and am very pleased with the way the Toxics flew...they held up to the 10 shots I took...just don't count on the practice tips being worth anything....I wouldn't waste your money on them...

...so needless to say, I am now a Toxic shooter..I should have listened to my paisan Paulaboutform from the beginning...I will now be able to give him a "Baci Italiana" when we meet at Boofest...

....All in all it was a great family day spent doing what we love....hunting related activities and busting my brother in laws Ballines big time....

...We had a great day with Anthony ....I would like to ask everyone on the forum and throughout the USA and Canada to join in on the celebration of his wedding to Danielle on July 4th by raising a glass of your favorite adult beverage and saying, "Cento anni!" (or 100 years of Good Luck to them!)...a few fireworks would also be helpful!

Thanks again everyone for the well wishes. Had a great day with Dad and the rest of the boys in the family. Of course there was plenty of trash talking.......(the most by my uncle, whom shot the worst) but it was all in good fun. Days like today make you stop and think how lucky you are to have such a tight knit family as I do. We all may not live right around the corner like we used to, but we always get together and enjoy ourselves when we are outdoors. I'm glad everyone took the time out of their schedules to enjoy the day. I want to personally single out my dad and thank him for making me an absolute addict when it comes to being outdoors..........See pops the apple don't fall too far from the tree!!!!!! Love ya. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think you are being a little harsh.
I am sure they are fine when used with inferior crossbow brands.
