Scope Rings - Micro and Nikon Bolt

Post by Eck »

I've given into temptation and ordered a Micro, due in later in the week. Based on my experience with the Varizone and rings on my Emag, and experience/comments from others on the forum, I'm looking hard at upgrading those items from the "kit". I've 90% settled on a Nikon Bolt for optics, but wanted to ask what rings folks are using/recommending. I'd like to go with "Low" rings if they fit with that scope . . . what are folks using?

Thanks in advance!

Medium Leupold Rifleman rings, low won't get you there! I found them on Ebay for $14.99 shipped free.

I used the Weaver medium tactical rings. The Nikon Bolt is short and the low rings would not work as the scope objective lens would hit the scope rail even with the center groove in the rail.

I have the Nikon Bolt on my Matrix 355 and Exocet 200. For both I used low Leupold PRW rings in black matte. The work great and fit perfect. High quality rings.

I have a bolt on my 330 the velocity on a bolt is for 305 fps my arrows 400 grain drag the velocity down to around that at real hunting distances 40 yards your gonna be pretty much dead on the points . I have weaver 6 bolt medium rings. I have a crossbones on my micro there both great scopes. Medium rings are needed for the bolt on a micro. Too

I use low steel Millett rings and filed down the scope base so the scope fits as it should.

I would highly recommend the Burris Signature Series Zee Rings. They work great and do not scratch your scope, a little expensive but very worth for keeping your scope rigidly mounted.
