Welcome, Well I'm 63 and shoot a 380. I have no problem cocking it with a simple Excal rope cocker. Shots crazy fast and crazy accurate.... Plain and simple.

I had to qualify for a management hunt again this year. I've been doing it for several years. I shoot a Vortex. Went to shoot this year and the guy qualifying me said he didn't see the arrow going. I told him either do the deer . It was a bulls eye. I qualified.

Well, pulled the trigger so to speak on the Matrix 380 in Mad Max finish. Shot it several times this evening just to run it. Feels good, shoots good right out of the box. My son shot his 335 micro side by side and I was just real happy dad this evening. I ordered the air brake for the micro and will install it after it arrives. Anxious to see and hear the difference if it really works. I'll be sure and post up a response and a video of before and after upon install.

Lots of good replies here, a few I will respond directly. I'm locked in Rockwall Texas so if anybody is close bounce me a note. I have a gun range in Royse City I'm adding an archery course too.

Thanks again, love tHe forum.

My first post - have been lurking and learning from you guys for a while now.

Congrats to the op on his 380 - I'm sure it'll be an awesome bow

I'm about to buy my first crossbow ... Have mostly done field archery with recurve and compounds. Crossbows are expensive here (Australia) - I suspect the retailers have to jump through a lot of hoops to import them and so not many people do.

I'm after a crossbow that I'll target shoot for fun, and hunt with from time to time ... Most likely boar. Durability is king for me though as parts may not be as readily available here.

Is the 380 the only matrix with anti dry fire included standard ... I'm thinking that's a must have. Also thinking of adding the tac pac handle - keep my thumb out of the way and my wrist is dodgy from a cycling accident when I was younger.

Weighing up
axiom $975 and add tac and adf
355 $1550 and add tac and adf
380 $1895 and add tac

Guinness,

Much luck brother. I have several freinds in your neck of the world and I send them traditional archery stuff from USA all the time.

Be happy to do the same for you if you ever need any help.

I think from your description, you'll want to look at the 355 or 330. Less power = less abuse. Although the Matrix series of bows are less efficient with heavy arrows, the 350 ft'sec Exomax killed an Elephant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJokpxvMmvA
