Scopes for grizzly
I have already got some good recommendations, but what are the best scopes for the grizzly and what are positives and negatives for each scope?
I want really good glass that I can see well at first and last light. I also want a very good reticle that is easy to use and easy to see even in low light. Also want crosshairs from 20-50+ yards.
Any advice or links to reviews would be appreciated.
I obviously want something that is clearly better than the varizone.

Re: Scopes for grizzly
You my friend have just described the Nikon "Bolt".... which is also very light weight and compact.
Excellent glass, very sharp out to the very edges.... not speed adjustable, buy happen to be made for bows in exactly your speed specifications.... Those rated 305-310 fps seem to line up perfectly with the graduations they have clear out to 60 yards.
I picked mine up at Cabels for about $159.00 if I remember correctly and put it on my 305 fps Axiom SMF, after reading a ton of good posts and reccomendations right here on this forum. I'm very happy with it with no plans to ever remove it.
I have a Leupold Crossbones on my 355 and both are near equals optically....You could actually probably be happy with either, but Nikon gets my vote for your specific application.

Is this what I need? Is it hard to see reticle in low light since it's not illuminated?
Does it have aim point for walking deer at 20 yards?

I have the Hawke XB30 Pro SR on my Grizzly and love it. I found it for $225 at a local dealer who said that he'd match anyone's price.
I absolutely love it. It has reticles from 20-100 yards. No you won't be shooting that far at an animal but I can attest to the fact that it's sure fun to play with. Even with the Grizzly.
The glass is great as I have amazing low light visibility with it. The lighted reticle is adjustable and does not have settings so you simply turn the knob to your desired brightness and that's it.

You got a Deadzone scope and didn't like it?

I got a varizone scope and I do like it but wanted something better in low light.
How does the deadzone compare to the varizone?

Thanks for the help guys!
Re: Scopes for grizzly
I got a Varizone on my Micro and couldn't resist upgrading to a Nikon.
I also got a Deadzone on my Grizzly and see no point in upgrading at this point. The deadzone is in a different class compared to the varizone if you ask me.

What do you think of the Nikon bolt xr? How does it compare to the Varizone and the dead zone? Wouldn't your Nikon work better on your grizzly since it matches the FPS?vpsaline wrote:I got a Varizone on my Micro and couldn't resist upgrading to a Nikon.

I'm guessing you like the Nikon better and that is why it is on your micro?
Re: Scopes for grizzly
Ya, I prefer having the higher end optic on the Micro. It's not too complicated, 20yard zero, next chevron 30yard and last chevron is 45yards.
