matrix 330 or 355

Post by M77 ruger »

Now that you guys have helped me pick which crossbow to go with. I am looking for which one will be the most reliable. Talked to a guy today at a local archery store and he said the 330 is the most reliable and that the 355 has limb problems. Now I have looked for problems on the 355 but I haven't found much (are there known problems with the 355?) I have seen a lot people post that the 330 is nearly bullet proof. So I am going to make a poll and which every one wins that's the one I am going to go with for deer hunting and year round target practice. It seems the 355 that has had limb problems is the micro but not 100%.

I had the Matrix 330 and now have the Matrix 355. Both are excellent bows and you'll be happy with either. The 355 will put the arrow a little deeper into your target practice setup and strengthen your arms just a tad more with each shot you make. Don't worry about limb failures, I read and researched until my eyes hurt and the 355 is a top choice in my book.

I have both.bought 330 for my son.can't go wrong with either.haven't heard about any limb problems on the 355.330 is a little smoother but the 355 definitely hits harder.355 is my go to xbow.recommend you put ADF and baby bumpers on which ever one you pick

Both are excellent models.... as I have owned both and am familiar with each.
I started out with a 330 but after shooting for some time I found I could physically handle a bit more weight....

As elk are my favorite game animal, I went ahead and traded my 330 with another member here who had a 355 and had come to the realization he needed less draw weight .

I got a bit flatter trajectory, a bit more speed and penetration on the larger bodied elk.....( It was a great choice as you may see in my avatar.)

For Deer either bow is totaly sufficient and equally dependable. IMO, with you being young and healthy as you are, I would think the 355 may be your answer.

Which ever model you choose, I would suggest you add a set of REDS or Danny Millers "Baby Bumper" string stops as well as an ADF (anti dry-fire scope base).

If I was in the market I would buy a Micro 315,, IMHO the more power the more problems..Good luck in making your decision!

Not bragging but accidentally dry fired my 330 awhile back and Mercy took it, no problem with the limbs. Killed a deer a month later. You can shoot it all day and your arms won't get tired. I'm extremely happy with my 330.

If are going to be practical and you use logic , you'll buy the lesser of the two for reliability.

You do make a good point. I have talked to a few dealers and have been doing tons of research and from what they are telling me and what I am reading the 330 & 355 are equal in reliability. That's why I made this poll so you guys that actually own these bows would make my decision for me. It seems I can't go wrong no matter which one I go with. If both are equally reliable than I don't think it would hurt having a little extra speed.

I did learn something on the 350 LE a dealer told me that Excalibur made these from the matrix 405 and they are just cut down.

Why would you choose the 355 over the 350? You save $200 or more on the 350 package over the 355 package and get the same bow in total camo MOTS plus it shoots faster than the 355 and has the exact same warranty. Only real difference is a tad better scope on the 355 (and I debate that if it is the Tact Zone) and an extra factory arrow which most of us do not even use cause we shoot Black Eagles.

If you are in the US (no profile info shown) you can get the 350 TYD for under $500.
