So far that's 4 for the 12th.
With Fred, that's 5.
With Brian, that makes 6 for the 12th of March.
Add Lou and we have 7 for the 12th.
Add Rob to the 12th and we have 8.

Anyone wanting to shoot the Bulldog that Excalibur so graciously let me have for this workshop should bring their own arrows. You will not be able to use the ones you made that day because the glue will not be 100% set for a day.
So again, bring your own arrows and for krap sakes, make sure the arrows are fully seated!!! If you don't fully seat the arrow, you will get a semi dryfire and a few things will happen. One, you'll splinter a limb. Two, you'll bugger up an arrow. Last but most importantly, you'll ruin it for everyone else. Again, fully seat the arrow and all good things will happen.

The last thing we want to do is ruin a perfectly good bow.

As a general rule before I shoot I.

Insert arrow.
Check to ensure it's fully seated.
Check for arrow again.
Push it in again to ensure fully seated.
Safety off & ensure I have a safe target to shoot @.
Fire in the hole...... :)

Jeff, that wasn't pointed at anyone in particular. Crap happens and im hoping that after a pointed remark like the one I made, everyone will be just a tad more careful. The bigger the beast, the less you can get away with small inproprieties Just like wives

I just wanted to send a big Thank You to Don and Family for opening up his home and shop to us today for the day. I learned a lot and had a chance to meet a lot of good people from this forum. Don is a great teacher and an all around Gentleman. If you ever need any help you know I'm close by.

I'll second the big 'thank you' to Don for hosting the lessons, providing supplies at very friendly rates, and sharing the knowledge & techniques he's had to learn through trial and error over the years. It was a great group of guys to meet and learn with too.
And getting to see such a well provisioned man cave was awesome! Tools, supplies, and sooo many crossbows!
Thanks Don!

For those of us who cannot attend this event, is there or would you be interested in posting a tutorial on building crossbow bolts? I have shot traditional archery equipment and compound vertical bows for many years and made my own arrows. Old shoulders have made me give up bow hunting or switch to xbow. Just need to understand the differences in xbow bolts and regular arrows as far as which shaft (aluminum) to use and any special ways to Fletch them and nock and inserts to use and where to buy. Thanks. Ricky McLaughlin
