diablos got stuck

Post by codye »

good afternoon gang
got out to do some site in with the scope change out,
I'm shooting at a delta 3to4 " plastic hi density foam .
first bolt out of the 380 at 25 yards through the target hit garden
shed leaving a dent but folded the fletching lmao opps
there was plastic hair like fibers stuck to bolt (melt ima think)
now I'm wiping the bolts with pam sprayed into a paper towel.
and I put a bag filled with some old canvas behind the target .
bolts come out a lot easier and clean . quick wipe after each shot
hope some of folks find this helpful.
again thanks for the laughs and helping out the newbie ive learned
a ton from the gang in here from tech chit to safety you don't normally
consider when using an xbow take care all and be safe

Yes Carbons are not target friendly . You have to use some sort of lube for them . They create a lot of friction heat going in . On some 3-d targets they practically weld themselves in there .

Buy a field point only crossbow target bag and you can just pull them out with your fingers.

380's are not kind to targets at 25 yds or 30 or 35 yds. Neither are Micro 355's :(

I have one that is quite old, don't really remember how long I've had it. Shot out the cover, bought a new cover and slipped the old inside. Still works great and stops the 380 at 20yrds. 2 fingers and can pull the arrows out. A have also found a couple of covers on sale, and just filled them with old clothes, tee shirts and such, works just as well.

For 3D shooting I carry a scentless bar soap that I rub on the bolts before each shot it helps on removal from target.
