New to Crossbow

Post by ihunt »

As the title says 'New to Crossbow' and as a proud owner of a new excal crossbow I would like to know is there a parts list? I checked out the user manual and it gives you the basics and I searched the web but nothing that gives me a detail part lists. I know what are limbs, trigger etc but I noticed often here on the forum, names like claw, latches, jaws, brace as a newbie I'm searching hi and low trying to find out what these parts are? So is there a detailed parts list that I download or print?

Thanks for your understanding.

Brace height is the distance your string sits at rest from the riser .
FOC ( forward of centre) refers to the percentage of weight forward of the theoretic center of the shaft . ie a dart is very weight forward.
Any other questions don`t hesitate to ask . Lots of eager people here to answer .

Claws or latches will be referring to the drop down pieces that hold your string at full draw.

I'm not sure about a list of parts but any specific question just let her fly!! You will get answers very quick here!! Some bows have marks on the rail to show where the brace height should be. If you need to adjust it you will need the stringing aid to loosen the string. It will be your best investment!!

Thanks for suggesting the stringing aid. Another must have item.

As I am another newbie I can say this. Get the Dan Miller stringing aid from Boo and the Dan Miller arrow puller. Boo is here in Canada and has both. Great guy to deal with and both items are first rate!
