This is the only lubricant I use on my crossbow rail. I believe it to be superior to any other rail-lube.

We use it for patch lube on our flintlocks with other things added...No expert only what I read that stuff will collect dirt and that is no good for your string serving from what i read here from many..I am shooting dry rail with silicone on rag wiped on and then wiped off with towel and it stays smooth for about 10 shots or so and i do it again but thats just me...

I believe its medical grade mineral oil with sime fragrances added. I use fluid film because its lanolin based and it rakes a long time to dry out once somethung is sprayed or wiped down with it

I use a military grade synthetic lubricant applied to a clean cloth and wipe the rail with it, then I wipe it dry with another clean dry cloth.
I only do this when I start to notice a little wax buildup on the rail from the serving. I don't wax my serving very often, so it stays pretty clean.

Jim, stop doing it every ten shots or so. You're going to start seeing serving separation again. Think of it as just cleaning a dirty rail, that's it.sproulman wrote:We use it for patch lube on our flintlocks with other things added...No expert only what I read that stuff will collect dirt and that is no good for your string serving from what i read here from many..I am shooting dry rail with silicone on rag wiped on and then wiped off with towel and it stays smooth for about 10 shots or so and i do it again but thats just me...
