Do you remove the string for the off season or not?

I don't. I just check every few weeks to make sure the string isn't getting to close to the bumpers.

Yes
Hang it up for the off season. Figure that it's easy to do and can't hurt, so why not. Easy to put back on when I need to.
I love my crossbow for hunting, otherwise it is like a tool for me such as a hammer to be put away until time to use again.
I have too many other things that I do during the other seasons - such as fishing, golfing, traveling, etc.
I do, however, understand those that keep it strung all the time and like to shoot all the time - to them I say go for it; that's just not me.

I normally remove the string from my crossbows, but I didn't last year and ended up shooting a lot more through the spring and summer. I haven't decided what I'm going to do this year. :?

I have never unstrung any of my Excalibur's offseason since the first one I purchased in 1991. Nothing negative was noted I might add.

Any bow I hunt with or shoot I leave strung up all the time. I do not remove a string for the sake of the limbs or string. It's just more convenient to store a bow without a string.

Strings never come off here either.
Never an issue as I recall. Lots of Bows, and strings.
Just never remove them until they need to be replaced.
About every 500 shots.
