Yes, especially with the Optimizer, you need more cheekpiece height.

I did the same thing with my factory 405 and posted the DIY.

The best tip is that when you drill the holes down into the stock from the top, you need to be very precise and careful to drill straight down and not too far or you'll potentially poke your drill bit out the "thinner" side of the stock.

My home made "arrow shaft carbon fiber spacers" were 1 9'16", but that met my needs you may need a different height based on your set up.
