Hello All, It's Been a Little While

Post by TheBig1 »

I hope that during my absence that everyone has faired well and that all of the friends that I once made on here are still around.

I've had a busy year. I got into reloading last June and have been having a blast with that and have spent too much money as usual on equipment. I also got pretty hardcore into predator hunting, yotes, fox, ect... I've had a blast with that also but have struck out every single time that I've gone out. Luckily I bought a FoxPro Fusion e-caller. A word of knowledge here, predators won't come to your call just because you bought a really expensive, top of the line caller. Who knew? LOL

My son and I have been having a blast. I gained custody of him several months back and we've been having a lot of fun.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I've been really busy on a lot of reloading and predator hunting forums and have neglected my first forum that truly accepted me and showed me not all of humanity is a bunch of jerks.

I'll certainly try to start stopping back more periodically. Oh, and before you ask, it was also a rough year of deer hunting. The mountains are tough but that's how I like it. They can be anywhere at anytime and not where you think they'll be.

Not much news from my side.

Got an archery elk last fall. Bear hunters have forgotten or forgiven my recipe for bear bait. Didn't get any coyotes to send to BooFest.

Things have been kind of dreary. :D :D

Welcome back Chad. I hope this turns into a year of positives and successful hunts for you....and especially time afield with your son. :D

Welcome back Chad. Make memories afield with your son.

I never did take the plunge into the high price electronic callers, but made my own and along with cowhorn howlers and mouth blown calls, and been lucky to take coyotes and fox. Just keep at it and it will fall into place for you.

I love my Foxpro's ( an Inferno and a Hell Fire ) which I have paired up with my "Walking Varmint Rifle", that being a light weight CZ 452 in 223 with a Leupold VX-2 4 1/2 x 14 AO. and then there's the Bushmaster V-target... can't have too many AR's   to many coyotes and rock chucks and not enough time

Thanks guys, it's good to hear from all of the usual suspects.

My wife also got her dream job at a doctors office that she used to work at 15 years ago. I too got a part time job at a local, new gun shop and indoor range. I'm loving it also. A lot of positives going on right now.

Gene, I'm having a blast reloading. I picked up a Howa 22-250 and am having too much fun reloading for everything.

Jody, I was thinking about you just this past weekend. I was cleaning up all of my hunting stuff for the season and came across the box of Steelforce that you sent me. My wife immediately accused me of buying yet another item. So I had to tell her how gracious and generous you were.

Good to see you back. How is your son doing with the compound bow?
