I’m really impressed with this scope! If you use an older battery in it, like out of your vehicle fob, the illumination will be dimmer, as needed. I paid $!29 which was still a bargain.

Thanks for the battery tip SEW. After a lot of research and reading reviews it became clear that this is a Hawke xb30 with a slightly different reticle and for $100 how could I go wrong especially when the metal caps and rings are included.
Just wondering if they are that much better in low-light conditions than the Tact-Zone. Where I hunt, the trees are to my west so those last few minutes are always darker than I would wish for.

Part of my decision to pull the trigger on this scope was due to some reviews from robertyb, sew and other forum members. I have used a Hawke XB30 pro and imo the tact zone doesn’t come close to it in any way and from what I am hearing this is a Hawke XB30 pro made by Hawke for trophy ridge with a slightly different reticle.
The reticle on this version of the scope is less busy than the Hawke brand version. I prefer the Trail Ridge. However, I don’t have the very newest Hawke to compare the glass with. Best I can tell from memory of a year ago, they’re about the same.
This is just a pretty decent scope. Often when a liquidation sale comes about, the latest and greatest is just about to come out.
A person can go broke chasing the latest and greatest. I love my Excaliburs as they become more vintage, and to me, still the greatest.
Too much going on in those new scopes! My range maxes out at 40yds so I don’t need more than 4 lines on my reticle. Any more is just too much for me personally.
Good deal Gene. Mine for the 380 is going to be here Monday and if I like it enough I will get another one for backup on the bulldog if I get tired of the optimizer/Vortex combo.
