I believe you pay taxes here. If the boots are "imported" to Cabelas then there is an additional tax.

You're right though. BassPro is expensive. Have you looked at, say La Baron's. I bought a nice pair of Irish Setter boots with 1000 grms of thinsulate. They keep my feet real warm.

Someone told me that Gangnon Sports in Ohsawa was going out of business and they were clearing out all the in stock stuff. Might be worth a call???

I have purchaced a few things from Cabelas online, mostly small stuff. You pay them in US$ for the product & shipping. Have not had to pay any duties on anything yet but you may be charged PST when it comes to Ontario. I have found that it seems to be hit and miss with PST, sometimes I get charged most times I dont.
I usually just add up the cost plus exchange +PST and if its still cheaper than getting it here then I buy at Cabelas.

I you want rubber boots, the ONLY kind to buy are Lacrosse!!!! They are $$$$, but they are worth every penny. Had my 1st pair of Burly's for 10 years!!! Best boots I have ever owned.

Any order from Cabelas that I have received is automatically hit with a $3.50 customs brokerage fee, and any applicable taxes and duties are collected by a SPAM! and included in the price Cabelas quotes. I have ordered a variety of items from them, and have never been charged any extra duties or taxes other than what was already included in their invoice.

The quickest way to find the total cost of an item from Cabelas is to register on their website and then put something you want in your shopping basket and proceed to the checkout. All taxes, fees, duties, and shipping are shown on the checkout page before you are asked for payment. As I said, I have always had to only pay what they invoiced me, never any extra GST or PST. I don't know if that is always the case, or if I have just been fortunate.
