Ground Blind Recommendations
Hi all
Thinking of picking up a pop up ground blind for the 2019 season after some good success (and comfort!) this past season in a borrowed one
Looking for some feedback on ground blinds that people are using either good or bad. If you could share brand and model as there are 100s of options from what I've seen so far.
Cheers!

Doghouse for me too. I had a Double Bull, roomy but junk in materials & workmanship in my opinion.

Get the biggest one you can find. Sit as far back from window as possible, you be invisible!
Re: Ground Blind Recommendations
Early season I use a 30 ft long by 4 ft piece of camo burlap. Have six 1x1x4 cedar stakes stapled to the burlap every 5 ft. Thin metal rods in the bottom of each stake.
It allows me to walk till I find an active trail. Set up a wide V and I sit back in the V. Laying down, I can see movement thru the burlap and wait till they cross.
Works good for turkey hunting via stalk and talk as well.
Use an Ameristep when the temps drop.

I am also going to be using a ghost blind when the weather is good no rain or snow along with the ameristep, That will allow me to move if I have to. Got the predator thinking of picking up the runner for turkey hunting .

I like big blinds that I can hunt 3 in but gives me lots of room when alone. My blinds stay out for about 4 months a year during deer seasons and I am still using the first one I bought. I recommend the Double Bull blinds now owned by Primos. Look at the Primos DB deluxe.

There are many options. Much of it depends on your budget. I use a Lucky’s Blind. Great set up. Leave out for3-4 months. All kinds of weather. Never an issue. My blind is the Super Star 2. He has a decent web site with several videos. Nice guy. Quality item. American made. Can’t go wrong. Looking to buy another one for the Fall.

geta doghouse -- always upgrade later-- off craigslist try it out - that way not out a bunch of cash
I refer open groundblinds till its wet or windy
one yr I just set a folding chair back in the branches between two young pines along a scrap line--worked great as long as you play the wind

Re: Ground Blind Recommendations
I owned a doghouse and found it to be poor... I also use a compound bow along with my Excalibur... I was unable to use my compound in the blind because the blind was to small... The blind only lasted two seasons before zippiers broke... I just ordered a Primos surround view 180... Primos has a lifetime warranty and there newer blinds are more high end.
