Cutting rail down
was looking for a micro 315 but came across a killer deal on a 335.I'm a machinist by trade and am thinking about cutting rail down myself and relocating the holes.from everything I've read the only difference between the two is a 1/2".does this sound right.

Measure twice and cut once. I have cut down two mainframes myself with simple tools without issue.

Here's where you may have a problem. There are three holes under the riser, and cutting it down by 1/2 is not going to let any of them line up. So you'll be full of holes under there. Pop your riser off and you'll see what I mean. You'll end up with 6 holes +/-3/8" inside of 3" . Not much meat left.
If it's a GEN1 335, then you just need a gen2 riser and your already there
For what it's worth, if you advertise that you want to trade rails with someone who has a 315 or GEN1 335 I'm sure your have a taker in no time .

if gen 2 rail is 1/2" longer than gen 1 rail. I would trade my micro gen 1 rail.
