Feeling Guilty
I’ve been feeling guilty about neglecting my BD400. My Aculeus 460 and two SWATs have been the primary focus of long range arrow testing and hunting this fall/winter.
Primarily, I’ve been testing long range accuracy with moderately fast velocities and various broadheads. Also, been testing identical arrows from 3 different sources for Scorpyds, 2 non-indexed, non-spine matched and 1 set spine matched and indexed (Tapp Nation). Don’t think for a moment it doesn’t make a difference! Scorpyd - with Jerry’s was sub-1” for 9 arrows @ 80 yards, the others 2 & 3 times that.
I was sent a set of 6 arrows from a major manufacturer to test. I wanted to stress their spine the most I could - BD400. However, unlike the other two crossbows with Duralyts/Optimizers. The BD is hampered by the lesser TR530IL, good but not their equal. These arrows are just factory arrows.
Look at what the BD/factory arrows did. 60 yards.
Shooting the Excal was like being with an old friend.

Great shooting.
Life is complicated enough. It's nice to have a bow that doesn't need alot of tweaking to shoot accurately!

Great shooting but as a long time Excalibur owner I am not surprised that is way we buy Excaliburs and as your string stretches and brace height changes you can just add a twist to the string in about about the time it took me to type this, try that with a wheel bow.
And serving ware is addressed so easily just take off the string reserve and you are ready to hunt in less than a half hour, no bow shop needed.
I have never been tempted buy a cam crossbow I like to be able to keep my bow maintained at home and trouble free as possible.

Very nice shooting. I don't see any snow. My back yard is all white with more coming down. Want some?

Re: Feeling Guilty
Great shooting. Have you tested if spine/indexed bolts make a difference at 50 yards or less?

Only Diablos. Those arrows I tested were not indexed or matched, they weighed 13.8g/“. The total arrow weight minus point weight is 427-429g. These things with 125g points were a little over 550gs.PublicLandHunter1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:15 pmGreat shooting. Have you tested if spine/indexed bolts make a difference at 50 yards or less?

Re: Feeling Guilty
The actual definition is, “missing the mark”, I believe. I try not to “sin” but ; fortunately ‘ live under grace. Seems like I don’t when a couple of Scorpyd owners and minions go after me. At least I’m safe on the Excal forum.
Re: Feeling Guilty
I was testing for the manufacturer out of the BD400 and SWAT. I tested like I expect the normal buyer would use them. However, I’ll now test by rotating vanes and various weight FPS and BHs. Actually, there’s only 1 flier, and it’s not bad. It is very consistent - out of the BD400 @ 60 yds (handicapped by TR530IL) and the SWAT @ 80 ( Optimizer /Duralyt 2-8).PublicLandHunter1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:15 pmGreat shooting.
