For those of you that live in bear country what would be the minimum size pistol you would carry? Thanks in advance

Which bear? For grizzly (Browns) nothing short of a 44 magnum.
For black bear 357 magnum is plenty and use solid lead bear loads in either caliber.

Or just use the 44 magnum who cares about the size of the hole you put in the black bear :D

Sidearms add a lot of weight. Just wear a pair a trail runners, and bring along a fat friend! :)
