O/T Taxi Turkeys

Post by Species8472 »

Only started hunting gobblers last fall. These are my first two turkeys ever. The hen taken last fall on a walk and stalk. The tom taken this spring calling in the ghillie suit parked at the base of a big old maple tree. Both taken off the same property so they may have actually known each other.

Wow that's awsome .l only have one mounted gobbler .They take up a lot of room .lf l had a bigger house or a basement l would do something like that. If l had high ceilings l also like the flying from the roost mount. Enjoy your new addition. You will see that the Turkeys are worse dust collectors. Than the deer heads. Lol.

Sweet!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Very nice looking mounts.
Excuse my total lack of knowledge, when they do a turkey mount do the taxidermists use the real head and neck skin or a type of artificial?
Just wondering here in New Brunswick turkeys are just starting to arrive as they are extending their range north from the state of Maine. We do not have a season for turkey but I’m hoping to Be able to hunt in my time.

Taxidermy Turkey heads are plastic/foam artificial hairs are glued on the painted head.
