Quills/lumenoks Won't Work MYSTERY SOLVED

Post by Stepnoutnb »

Looking for your opinions please.
On May 03/2019 I ordered on line a set of 3 Excalibur Quills c/w Lumenoks. When they arrived I thought wow the Lumenoks seem to be quite tight to the shaft. Well this being my first time seeing a lumenok of any description I didn't think yo follow up. Well they have been in the cabinet since I received them. Friday The lovely wife and I made a 2 hour drive to Bass Pro and so I decided to look at their quills c/w the lumenoks. I knew right then and there my lumenoks were toast.
Its been 2 1/2 months since I ordered and received these. I'm thinking I'll have to eat the cost. What do you folks think? I'll try and attach some pictures. The first image is my Bad lumenoks the second is the Bass pro picture.

....Wayne....the Lumenoks are not toast....the batteries are...yes you will have to pay for the cost of the batteries (which are easy to change)....I think it's like $5.00 US for 2 batteries....you might try to get your money back...but 2 1/2 months ...hmmm? I would go the battery changing route and you will be good to go.... again there are videos for people like me with 10 thumbs......you might also call Lumenok themselves and tell them you bought them from a store and they didn't want to replace them by the time you got to try them....I have a sneaky suspicion they might just send you 2 packs of two batteries free of charge....let them know you are a first time user and are excited to become a fan....

Keep us informed of what happens!

PS: be very careful in pulling the Lummy out. Do not do it with pliers because any burr on them will potentially compromise cutting your string. Many of us have purchased the Danny Miller "arra" puller which is perfect for the task...and to shut them off at the range or in the field hunting!

Maybe I'm not following along here, what's wrong with the luminocks? What are they or what are they not doing?
The two pics shows the same pack of luminocks still in the package.

They should be tight, but they should light up with a swift whack to the nick on a hard surface. Or when fired.

Great advice I’ll call/email the lumenok folks, do Little research on part numbers and suppliers.
You know I should have listened to my instincts when I got them in the mail.

You are correct I posted pictures of the same package. I’ll post the other package. The lure oks I got in May were in the compressed state, turned on. This is my first time ever seeing Lumenoks, I thought it looked tight but did not follow up on my gut instincts. My bad. I hate typing or trying to post pictures on this iPad. My 3.5 year old granddaughter is sleeping near the PC. LOL. I earlier tried to type a reply on my iPhone I have no idea where that went geesh.
Thanks for pointing out my error on the pictures.

Yeah I did it correctly this time. You can see the difference in the space and the contacts do not make contact with the carbon fibres.

OMG I I kept hitting reply instead of edit while trying to post that picture. I don’t drink, maybe I should start lol. Janesy I did try the tap test on the lumenok but they are clearing the full depressed position.
Cheers

Yes that’s what I’m thinking but can’t prove it now too late. I mail ordered them from Sail. A good outfit to deal with but too much time has passed.

Yes sir, I contacted Lumenok last night. They contacted me right away last night. Been very helpful, asked me to test them by wrapping aluminum foil around the contacts. I’ll gladly try and let everyone know. They also said Excalibur puts the Lumenoks in and packages the arrows. I’ll test them again and keep everyone updated.

Owing many thanks to everyone. The mystery has been solved The Lumenoks do indeed work. As I mentioned the good folks at Lumenok suggested I test the the nocks with a piece of aluminum foil well I did and the work great.
Believe it or not I’m an electrician, I cannot believe I did not think of the foil geesh at 62 I’m loosing it lol.
In short I want to thank Lumenok, Dawn at Excalibur and all you good folks for your help. I think I should also thank ALCAN!
I’m so ashamed of myself
