Tick spray
Just thought I would let everyone know, I've been using this product for a couple years now. Although until recently I did not read the label. It works on Ticks.
My family and three other families were camping a few weekends back on a farm and many of the kids picked up ticks, thankfully no bits. Non of us got ticks. Far from scientific I know, but we were wearing this stuff. I wear it often, walk fields often and don't get ticks .
It's also safe for kids
Full disclosure, I sell this product at work. But As far as I know it's available at Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, and most other retailers. It's not exclusive to us haha.

Re: Tick spray
Thanks for sharing. Does it have a smell for hunting or strictly for fun activities. I have been using the armbands this summer when permethrin is overkill . They work well on mosquitoes but smell of strong citronella.

Re: Tick spray
When applied it has a slight odour. Once dry, I can't detect anything. But for hunting?? I doubt it's smell free to the critters

Re: Tick spray
It is more expensive than DEET but apparently more safe and just as effective. I use it on the Malinois' ears and head for friggin deer flies.

Re: Tick spray
IMO permethrin is never overkill. It works on ticks and it works for 6 weeks or so even washing the clothes. How is that overkill? I do mix my own so it is dirt cheap also.longbow joe wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 6:30 amThanks for sharing. Does it have a smell for hunting or strictly for fun activities. Amen, brother! When it comes to ticks and chiggers, there is no such thing as overkill!robertyb wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:20 amIMO permethrin is never overkill. I mix my own Permethrin too. Just buy a bottle of Livestock Premise Spray from Tractor Supply or Southern States or the like. Dilute it ten-to-one, and you’re good to go!
Re: Tick spray
That's the truth Don, but most people don't realize a bottle of liquid muskol should last for year's. You don't need to slather in it, a couple drops will do your whole body.
But also the internet has branded DEET as instant death in a bottle for children. Altho I haven't fell over yet from using it from day 1. So if you have young kids, this stuff is worth its weight in gold as far as I'm concerned.

Keith, Robert, do you guys use SFR? I'm using Martin's 10% because I read somewhere that SFR is formulated differently and should not be used on clothing.nchunter wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:36 amAmen, brother! Re: Tick spray
....I agree....also I have been watching YouTube videos on how to refill the Thermacell butane cartridges and also how to recharge used pads....the pads use 10% permetrin and is mixed with water on a 5:1 ratio with like 15 drops applied to the spent whitened pads....also the filling up of the cartridges is easy peasy also ....just another hobby to be involved with....and much cheaper!nchunter wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:36 amAmen, brother! Re: Tick spray
so what is the % you guys are shooting for? some manufacturers seem to have a different % in the larger bottles/jugs they sell but what is the % of permethrin i should have when i spray it on my clothes? thanks in advance.robertyb wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:20 amIMO permethrin is never overkill.
