Tree stand dilemma
Now here we go again. I have my dyed in wool 4 favorite stands . I got one that l put out last year that l just know is a good big buck spot but have not had any luck.
Sometimes you just get a feeling about a spot.
My one stand with the "feeling " took 3 years .l was ready to pull the thing and l got my big swamp buck. This mental stand thing mess's wit the brain. I got one that l hung last year and never sat in.
All this thinking and maby l will kill one out of the ghosblind.
I got my brother hunting with me this year I'm looking forward to have some company. This year will be a successful one if he kills one that's my real goal. Then l will worry about mine.
I gotta put a couple more stands up l guess. Lol some people just hang up a stand and hunt...l put up 2 new ones every year...its so hard not to.its a sickness

One of the main reasons why I like climbing stands. Over the years I have killed more bucks the first time hunting a spot than anything else. I also like to be able to react to sign immediately. A great stand location is worth it’s weight in gold, hope you get a great spot Joe!
It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!

Re: Tree stand dilemma
Our tactics have changed over the yrs, talkin nwisc.
3-4 yrs hunting public land central wisc. Cluster of people everywhere. Deer pushed hard. Even remote spots. We,d use natural blinds and climbers. Little success.
Started hunting n.central wisc. Last 3 yrs. Mostly small private land hunts. Double Ladder Stands are the best choice. Mostly hunt natural acorn dropping, heavy oaks. Travel routes and doe bedding areas.
This yr. Got 2 of the 360 tripod stands in travel areas on edge of oaks between ridge lines and swamp edges. Excited , even though marginal bucks are starting to show on trail cams.
I got no desire to use climbers , unless a big buck isn't cooperating and need a spot closer to his travel route.
Gonna put my popup on edge of tinny meadow in the middle of a huge timbered area , between pines and oaks.
Good luck all
