60 days until bow season

Post by PublicLandHunter1 »

With 60 days until bow season I decided to gut our spam and buy a new set of cabinets. What was I thinking. I usually start setting stands at the end of August but that may not happen. I am also putting new flooring down through out the house. I hope it stays hot till October because that is when I will probably get to go hunting. Well happy wife happy life. Maybe one of those tv shows will knock on my front door and offer to help me get it all done over a weekend. I could sit back and eat :eusa-popcorn:

Good luck Dave with healing up, and Anthony on getting to the finish line! I’m hoping to get out this fall if the heart failure medication keeps working well.

[/quot,
Anthony if you can retire @65 I say go for it, seems like everything is down hill after that for some, but not all,
I retired at 70, and I wish I would have retired sooner , good luck, and good health.

Dan, stay true to your meds and hopefully everything will be OK,
Hope you also get to hunt , but if you can't, prayers and God are with you........

~52 days until doe only gun season in Northern VA. Once the freezer has meat, I'll likely have the Micro in the stand more often than a rifle. Boy, its hot though in early September.

I've got ~80 days before actual bow season when bucks are legal.

I hope all of you get to hunt as much as you want to this coming season. The early season heat is a definite hindrance but mornings are often nice enough to enjoy. Pretty soon lots of us will be able to say the season starts next month. I haven't touched a crossbow since last November, so it's about time to start shooting a little bit. Maybe when it cools off next week.

I look forward to reading those first actual hunting stories that will start appearing in September. They beat the off season discussions by a mile!

Wisconsin's season starts 9-14. I don't mind the heat unless it's 90* or above. You have to move fast if you get a deer. I don't mind the bugs either, I have the bug tamer plus jacket w see thru hood which is great and a thermacell. I hunt every time I get a chance to seeing how I'm retired. You never know when your time is up! I retired at 61 and now every day is a holiday!

9/7 in NC. Ditto what Riflemanz said and don't leave home without your Thermacell.

Oct 01st here in Ontario. I'll be making the trip to my hunting grounds soon to chat with the farmers and deliver their gifts. If I take care of them they take care of me...
