Heck of a Summer ....
This is off topic so some people might not be interested. This summer was the best for my brother and I. I didn't get to post much because we were really busy. Now school is starting again and football is in full swing.
We went hunting for Javelina and Axis deer, guided three charity hunts for kids and traveled a lot.
In particular we went to California where my Dad was on Wheel of Fortune and we spent time at Culver Hotel where Judy Garland stayed during the filming of Wizard of Oz, tour of Sony Picture Studios, on the set of "The Goldbergs", Hollywood, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Venice Beach. We went shopping on Rodeo Drive and saw the "stars" on the walk by Hollywood and Vine. We stayed on the Queen Mary - the 5th most haunted place in the world, and ate at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles (the original real deal) and the original Inn and Out Burger.
I volunteered as a Lifeguard - I am too young to get paid. I know some of you guys think it is unique or impressive when a kid does something good compared to what you see and read on TV. I am not going to brag on myself, I am humbled that I had this experience but my Dad and Mom are real proud of me. I got a Lifesaving Award from the Mayor for rescuing someone that was drowning. I wanted to share this but my Dad still is enforcing the rules that I am not allowed to put my name or where I live on-line so I had to block out some of it but I think you can get the idea. This newspaper article was choppy so I put the first page and then copied the on-line version of the rest so it is all in one.
Thanks for letting me share!

Congratulations! Sounds like a full summer. I have done nothing but stay home all summer.
Re: Heck of a Summer ....
I’m not surprised. I’ve followed your posts/threads since you started. Greatness isn’t measured by years.

Ataboy! You are well ahead in leaving a footprint on this earth before you leave! Random acts of kindness right? Not to steal your glory but what little I know about your family, I do know that your father is instrumental (like it or not) in your upbringing. I just want to give him a little bit of credit but obviously, most of the credit belongs to you. You are a fine young man and I do admire you! I hope to still be around to see what you can do with your adult life. Should be good!
