What is a good FOC
What is a good FOC weight in general. Also, would it make a difference depending on the length of arrow, i.e. would make a difference if the arrow was 20", 18" or 16"?

Re: What is a good FOC
I saw your post, which got me to asking the same question. I really hadn't thought of it much because for the longest time I just used the stock Excalibur bolts and broadheads, which I figured had to be well balanced if they sold them that way. Over the last year I switched to BEA Executioners, and in the last few months switched to Rage 100gn expanding broadheads. I did some online digging, and it seems there's some consensus that 10-15% FOC is somehow ideal, but after doing calculations on my gear I learned I'm shooting almost 24% FOC. All I can say is I haven't been having accuracy issues with this setup. I was shooting 150gn broadheads before that, so higher FOC, and still no issues. Apparently spine stiffness has a lot to do with whether it's okay to have such a high FOC. Gauging by how difficult it is to get out of bed every morning, I'd say my spine is pretty stiff.
I'm really interested to hear the experts weigh in.

15% is the sweet spot on a stiff spine indexed arrow! Good luck!

Re: What is a good FOC
As others mentioned, I've heard 10 to 15%. In my experience, 10% might work well for field points or expandable broadheads but I haven't had any luck with fixed heads with a FOC that low. 15-18% is a lot better for fixed heads. With a FOC near 18%, I saw no difference in point of impact regardless of the head type. Field points, fixed heads and mechanicals all shot the same. You'll want to make sure to have a stiff arrow for a higher FOC to show proper benefit otherwise it will be quite inconsistent due to flexing.

.....I haven't checked in a long time....but the number 24 sticks in my head....haven't noticed any accuracy problems....so, as I said earlier, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Re: What is a good FOC
I haven't checked mine in a while, but like Boo said 20% or more is definitely gooder. Makes for funner shooting too. For reference I shoot
16" zombie, 110gr brass and a 125gr BH. Balanced out on the back with a Lumenok and 3 feathers.......although I see no drop off in accuracy if I have plastic nocks in there either. I'm guess ing this is around 25% or so
